As a participant within our American Cruise Lines Hospitality Excellence Program you will be given the opportunity to travel the US and live on a cruise ship, while building your resume and learning skills that will last a lifetime. Gain valuable experience while becoming hospitality certified as you step outside of the box and reach your maximum potential.

Our mission is to provide you with the necessary skills to take your hospitality experience to the next level. To be successful within this program you must be willing to demonstrate the following characteristics: a natural leader, a hard worker, and most importantly a team player. Being in the hospitality industry teamwork is imperative to the success of our operations, we value the contributions of all shipboard members.

Our ideal candidate for this program is one who has a “can do” mindset. This program is designed to be challenging and gratifying. During your time with us you will be trained by industry veterans all while being rewarded for reaching special milestones as you move toward graduation and certification.


Our Program Structure

The roles within this program being offered are Servers, Dishwashers, Housekeepers, and Deckhands. Applying to this program will allow you to rotate between hospitality roles and focus on the path that is right for you.


We are currently accepting applications for a start date of February 2020. During the application process, candidates are encouraged to consider which position is of the most interest to them, but may also rotate between positions once on board. No two jobs are the same which allows for an opportunity to become a well-rounded hospitality professional.


As a Server with American Cruise Lines you are responsible for delivering our chef-inspired breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a smile to our guests. The ability to work efficiently and effectively to cater to all culinary requests is imperative in order to provide a memorable dining experience each and every day.

As a Dishwasher with American Cruise Lines you will help to ensure that our galley is maintained in a pristine and safe manner. Operating a luxury cruise line requires the perfect sanitation of all cutlery, glassware, and dishes. This role is crucial within the fast-paced and high energy galley team.


As a Housekeeper with American Cruise Lines the cleanliness of our guests’ rooms and public areas is your top priority. Being a key member of the team you will create and maintain an environment that is clean, safe, and attractive for our guests.


As a Deckhand with American Cruise Lines you will work alongside our seasoned Captains and Mates to make sure our ship is operating smoothly and safely. Not only do you get to participate in docking operations, but you have the opportunity to assist in the maneuvering and steering of the vessel

Within our Hospitality of Excellence Program participants will be rewarded at each milestone that they have completed throughout their 28-weeks on board. Levels 1, 2, 3, and 4 represent an accomplishment that is truly gratifying once completed. Working on board the ship is challenging, but we have now implemented a rewards structure which will allow for you and your teammates to experience on-shore adventures such as zip-lining depending on which itinerary you are on.


28-Week Certification

After the completion of your 28-weeks with American Cruise Lines you will be presented with a certificate. This certificate is a true testament to the countless hours of hard work that you gave to our company in order to ensure that our guests were able to experience a trip of a lifetime. By completing the program you are able to take the skills that you learned with us and apply them to reach the job of your dreams.

Per U.S. Coast Guard Regulations, you do need to have a U.S. Citizenship or be a Green Card holder in order to work on board for American Cruise Lines. Please note that at this time we do not use outside agencies to hire our employees.
